Lucas Sebastián – PhD student

Lucas Sebastián Peris is a PhD student in Industrial Technologies and Telecommunications at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH), Spain. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science (2024) and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering (2026), specializing in AI systems for Health applications. In addition to his academic background, he has founded and lead the Brain-Computer Interfaces team for the student initiative «Daidalonic» in Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. Currently, he is a researcher at the Brain-Machine Interface Systems Lab (BMIsLab), where his research focuses on the development of Brain-Machine Interfaces (BMI). Deeply passionate about developing AI models to enchance the quality of life of people, his work centers on the real-time assesment of cognitive motor engagement for robot-assisted neurorehabilitation.
